Matsukura
Shinjuku Ekimae school
Multinational class is very exciting! In the same class, there are people from America, Europe, Asia and Oceania, and everyone reacts according to their own cultures. For example, when we had a situation of a date in a role play, a Chinese student said "I put on beautiful clothes for the date but it rained, so I got all wet", then a Western student said "Ah that's so pity!" with a very sad face even though it was just an example sentence for the class. The reaction seemed to be rather exaggerated for us Japanese, but Westerners naturally respond with a lot of sympathy. I was able to feel the cultural difference and it was an exciting moment. This excitement was not just for me, but the Chinese student who said the example sentence and other Asian students must have felt it too. You will not only learn Japanese, but also share the excitement of different cultures, which is very wonderful.
I am still quite junior
as a Japanese language teacher and am in the process of learning every day. Therefore, I try
to compensate for my lack of experience with efforts and always stay up until early morning to prepare for classes.
When what I have prepared has successful results and students show me the expression that indicates that they
understand, or when the study plan is good and the lesson has the synergistic result from the students helping each other,
I really feel happy. Being a teacher is a tough work for me but the lessons proceed
with fun and a cordial atmosphere. Let's encourage each other and continue to make fun classes.
